Under the guiding theme “Crop production out of the box”, the DLG Feldtage 2024 field exhibition held in Erwitte, Germany, 11-13 June, will present a comprehensive technical program on current topics in crop cultivation, plant breeding, crop protection and fertilizer management. Exploring challenges and opportunities in modern crop production, exhibition with its technical program goes beyond conventional thinking – from the use of photovoltaic systems in the field to resilient agricultural systems. The new “FarmRobotix” area will pioneering technologies in automation, AI and robotics. This year, the live machinery will be presented on a larger area than previous editions. The technical program will include features on organic farming and crop production in the value chain.

“Bridging the gap between sustainability, biodiversity climate protection and productivity requires an open mind to impement new technology. The international venue for crop cultivation professionals in the heart of the Soester Börde offers ideal conditions to not only explore innovations in crop production, plant breeding and crop protection in practice, but also to exchange ideas with experts in the technical program. It’s an opportunity for growers to look beyond the edge of their own field to discover new avenues in crop cultivation,” says Andreas Steul, project manager of the DLG Feldtage.

Professional “meeting points”, Pop-up-Talks, professional events
The technical program covers the issues related to the challenges in crop cultivation, biodiversity and future-oriented technologies. Dedicated “meeting points” on a given topic will be set up in the field, offering an opportunity to exchange ideas on the topics of “oil and protein crops”, “successfully managing weather risks”, “resilient agricultural systems”, “organic farming”, “Photovolatic in the field” and “soil protection”. Pop-up talks with compact lectures at the meeting points and at the exhibitor stands in the trial plots field will explore the topics in-depth. In the various expert forums, specialists from agricultural practice, consulting, science and industry will analyze the challenges in crop production. Increasing efficiency, reducing the use of pesticides, biodiversity and managing weather extremes are other topics to be discussed with visitors.

DLG-Plaza – a hub for networking and know-how
The DLG Plaza is another professional meeting point within the event, which includes the “DLG Stage” with panel discussions on topics in the value chain, from primary production to processing to trade, the future of crop protection and organic farming. DLG’s stand in the DLG Plaza also provide many opportunities for networking and further training. The DLG Crop Night will premiere on 12 June and will be an event highlight with live music and networking.

Wide range of live machinery demonstrations
The machinery demonstrations include weed control with row crop cultivators and tine harrows for cereals and maize, shallow tillage, including cultivators and shallow ploughs, to multi-tank seed drills for combined sowing of seeds and fertilizer, innovative technology for chemical crop protection, high-tech mineral fertilizer spreaders and technology for lifting, loading and filling in the field. The DLG Feldtage event is believed to offer the most comprehensive machinery demonstrations that includes live commentary in Europe.

The „FarmRobotix platform premieres
One highlight is the launch of the new “FarmRobotix” platform, which will celebrate its premiere at the DLG Feldtage 2024. FarmRobotix offers an international venue for farmers and experts interested in the latest developments in robotics, AI and automation as well as digital solutions in crop production and agriculture as a whole.

Value Chain Day
With the new “Value Chain Day” on 13 June, DLG Feldtage 2024 will focus on the entire food chain. Experts from science, agriculture, trade, processing along with representatives of leading companies in the food industry will analyse the potential of the trend towards alternative proteins, innovative ways of marketing quality grain and organic farming.

Technical offers for organic farming
Once again DLG Feldtage will provide a feature organic farming. At the “Organic Farming” venue with its demonstration area, the focus is on clover grass, organic grains and legumes. Pop-up talks offer ideas about seeds, crop rotation and nutrient management. Discussions on the perspectives of organic farming and organic value chains are planned at the DLG Plaza. On 12 June, the “Organic Farming” meeting point invites visitors to an organic lunch.
